Active for Autism Virtual Walk 2021
April 1 @ 12:00 am - April 30 @ 11:59 pm
Active for Autism is an Autism Awareness Event, a Fitness Challenge, a Fundraiser and a CELEBRATION hosted by Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge! Our community will come together “virtually” in celebration and support of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Proceeds from this amazing event will benefit the Resource Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder Program (RCASD), one of the many programs of Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR).
The RCASD Program staff work to provide factual and unbiased information and resources to individuals affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. There is no charge for these services. Through a peer support model, these individuals and their families are supported in navigating the maze of services that can lead to more positive outcomes, recognized through early intervention. Through this level of support, individuals living with an ASD diagnosis learn about the medical, therapeutic and educational support needed. Services are delivered through one to one peer support, case conferences, education and training.
At Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge, we believe in acceptance and inclusion. We strive to help those affected by ASD lead a more integrated and productive life. Please join us as we get Active for Autism…virtually! This is a chance to celebrate the individuals affected by Autism in our community, while supporting a very worthy cause.
